Do you think it will handle as good as the ATS-V?

No.

My bet is no, they’ll probably orient the SS to be a more ‘muscle car’ kind of Camaro so there’s room in the lineup for another Z/28 (or whatever they call it) to compete with the GT350.

My bet is they’ll roll out a 1le version in 6 months that will be right there with the ats v. Then they’ll roll out the z28.

They said the base SS will perform better than the outgoing 1LE, which did very well. Also Magnetic ride will be optional on the SS. Along with a 200lb weight reduction over the last SS. I say yes, close, but yes.
Also, they say the base model will be 300lbs lighter than the base 5th gen. That should be a fun car as well.

The high end one will. Wider track plus lighter lower ls

I would say no, if not for the sole reason it’ll have more weight up front.

I wonder though a ohc v6 with two turbos might be close.

what really makes me think this one will be great is reading/watching reviews and the praise for the chassis of the atsv.
